A closer look

Built to be worn, not endured

One strap, one adjustment

Set the tension once. No buckles, hinges or dials to work out in the dark.

Wraps the heel, not the whole leg

The tension pulls from the forefoot, so there's no hard shell running up your calf.

Breathable neoprene throughout

Soft enough to press flat against the mattress when you roll over.

Grip sole for the 3am trip

Textured underside so you can walk to the bathroom without taking it off.

Why nothing has worked so far

The damage isn't done during the day. It's done while you sleep.

The plantar fascia is a thick band of tissue running from your heel to the base of your toes. While you're upright and moving around, it stays stretched out and pliable.

Then you lie down. Your foot relaxes and the toes drop away from you. Leave any band slack for seven or eight hours and it contracts and stiffens — and that's what happens to your fascia every single night.

Think of it the way podiatrists often describe it: it heals like a scab. Overnight the tissue knits itself back together, but it does it in that shortened position. Then you put your full body weight on it at seven in the morning and it tears open again. That's the stab. That's why the first step is always the worst one.

Now look at what you've been throwing at it: insoles, calf stretches, anti-inflammatories, better shoes. Every one of those works on the daytime. Not one of them changes what your foot does between midnight and six.

So of course your mornings never shifted. You weren't doing it wrong — you were aiming at the wrong window.

How SoleNua works

Three things happen between lights-out and your alarm

1

You put it on before bed

Soft neoprene with one adjustable strap. Ten seconds, no fiddling, no instructions to re-read.

2

It holds your foot near 90° all night

The fascia stays at full length rather than drawing tight. It knits back together long, not short.

3

You stand up — and there's no tear

Nothing has bunched up and stiffened overnight, so there's nothing to pull open. The morning cycle breaks.

🩺

A recognised approach, in a wearable form

Holding the foot in dorsiflexion overnight is listed among standard conservative measures for plantar heel pain by the HSE, the NHS, the Mayo Clinic and the AAOS. SoleNua uses that same mechanism in something you can realistically sleep in.

Wake up and walk without bracing

Comfort

Breathable throughout

Lightweight neoprene that doesn't heat up under the duvet.

Fit

Adjustable stretch

Set the tension to what your foot tolerates, then leave it.

Safety

Secure grip sole

Walk safely on the midnight trip to the bathroom.

Relaxing at home wearing the SoleNua splint

Morning relief, redefined

Stop working on the daytime. This is a passive approach that gently holds your foot at length while you sleep — a light, non-slip alternative to the heavy orthopaedic boot.

Comparison against typical moulded plastic night splints. Both approaches target overnight tightening — the difference is whether you keep wearing it.

Sizing

One strap, two sizes

The strap adjusts through a wide range, so most people fall comfortably inside one size. If you're on the boundary, size up.

SizeEU shoeUK shoe
S / M36 – 413 – 7.5
L / XL42 – 478 – 12

Sold as a single splint. Most people with pain in one foot only need one — if both feet are affected, order two.

Common questions

Straight answers

Will I actually be able to sleep in it?

That's the whole design brief. It's soft neoprene with a single strap rather than a moulded shell with buckles and hinges. Most people say the first night feels slightly odd and by the third they've stopped noticing it. It's light enough that you can roll over normally.

I tried a rigid night splint before and hated it.

Fair enough — most people who try one give up within a week. The rigid boot is bulky, it makes rolling over difficult, and it heats up. SoleNua uses the same underlying idea, holding the foot in dorsiflexion overnight, but in a form people actually keep on. A treatment you abandon after three nights does nothing.

How is this different from insoles or stretching?

Timing. Insoles support your arch while you're on your feet. Stretching lengthens tissue for a while after you do it. Both work on the daytime. Neither changes the position your foot sits in for seven hours overnight, which is when the tightening happens. SoleNua works on that window specifically — it isn't a replacement for the other things, it's the part that was missing.

How long before I notice a difference?

Some people notice a change in the first step after a few nights. For most it's more gradual — a couple of weeks before mornings feel meaningfully different, and around four to six weeks before it settles. It's tissue adapting, not a painkiller, so give it a fair run. That's why the guarantee is 60 nights rather than 14 days.

What size do I need?

Two sizes. S/M covers EU 36–41 and L/XL covers EU 42–47. The strap adjusts through a wide range, so if you're right on the line, go with the larger one.

Can I wash it?

Yes. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and air dry. Don't tumble dry it — heat degrades neoprene over time.

Do I have to pay customs or extra charges?

No. We ship from within Ireland, so there are no customs fees, no VAT surprises at the door, and no waiting on a courier clearing a package through Brexit paperwork. Delivery is free and typically arrives in 2–4 working days.

What if it doesn't work for me?

Email us within 60 nights and we'll refund you in full. You don't need to justify it and there's no form to fill in. Not everyone responds to the same thing, and we'd rather you had your money back than a drawer full of something you don't use.

Should I check with a doctor first?

If your heel pain is severe, getting worse, or has lasted a long time, please do — heel pain has several possible causes and it's worth knowing which one you have. SoleNua is a comfort and wellness product, not a diagnosis or a medical treatment.
